What comes to your mind when you hear the word butterfly? Probably something beautiful.

I saw a really cool butterfly in Colombia that had clear wings… you could see right through them! How amazing is that? Lepidoptera is an order of insects that includes butterflies and moths, so they really are genetically speaking, quite similar.

Now, what do you think of when you see this photo?

That is a scanning electron microscope image of a pyralidae moth’s head from the side. Kind of crazy, eh?! Kiss should take a lesson from moths and butterflies on what a real tongue is!
