Starting this Saturday as part of the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival is an incredible art exhibition called State of the Art. It is being held in the Whistler Conference Centre’s Grand Foyer and is absolutely FREE. The opening party on Saturday night (8pm – 1am) is supposed to be amazing and will feature live painting demos by Kristian Adam along with Justin Ormiston, Phresha, and Jeff Donomme.
Kristian is busy preparing himself for his upcoming solo exhibition, Animalopolis, which will take place at Ayden Gallery with the opening reception on Friday, June 11. I will be providing more details about this in the future as I get them!
Here is a sneak peak at a piece he has been working on for State of the Art, called PUF. This is a photo of it while it is in progress in his studio (if you follow him on Facebook you can get all the same inside info I have), so be sure to stop by and see the finished version in Whistler.
We also did a collaboration together called Flying Sam which will be on display at State of the Art as well, so if you go please do comment and let me know what you think!
Lastly, I spoke with Jeff at a show called Falling Out: Hard Feelings in Mixed Mediums at the Beaumont Studios, and it seems he is leaving our lovely city of Vancouver so this may be one of the last chances to see him before he leaves.
Moral of this article = check out State of the Art if you can, it is open daily from noon to 6pm during the WSSF. You won’t regret it.
