Colombia’s Minimum Wage Increases

According to Agenica EFE, Colombia’s minimum wage has been increased from 515,000 pesos per month (approx. $274 CAD) to 535,600 pesos (approx. $284 CAD) per month. This is a 20.600 peso increase, or about $10 Canadian. The monthly transportation subsidy remains at 63.600 pesos (approx. $34 CAD) per month.

Originally minimum wage was set to increase 3.4%, but another .06% was added to better reflect inflation, taking the total increase to 4%. The wage is retroactive to January 1, 2011.
